DVA Waterline Relocation – St. Louis, MO

St. Louis, Missouri (John J. Cochran VA Hospital) · $13,393,847 Contract · In Progress · RKE as Prime Contractor
Project Overview

Scope & Delivery

The existing 54-inch transmission waterline is being abandoned and selectively removed and replaced/rerouted around future major construction activities with a new 48-inch transmission waterline. The new 48-inch line (approximately 1,600 LF) reroutes potable water north along Grand Boulevard from Bell Avenue to Finney Avenue, then west along Finney Avenue to a new tie-in point near the west side of North Spring Avenue. Work includes open-cut excavation, installation of new pipe and associated components, temporary traffic control, and surface restoration.

A new 12-inch distribution waterline (approximately 1,500 LF) is being installed within North Spring Avenue from Grandel Avenue to Finney Avenue, and a 12-inch stub-out and meter vault is being constructed at Grand Avenue and Windsor Place to provide redundancy. Additional work includes rehabilitation of manholes and sewer service connections; cleaning and lining of sewer pipe and point repairs; removal and replacement of pavements and roadways; coordination of utility relocations; setup and movement of shoring systems for trenching; demolition of steel trolley tracks buried beneath roadways; backfilling; and temporary and permanent striping.
